ACTIVE DIRECTORY INSTALLATION AND DOMAIN CONFIGURATION
 
  1. Assumed that Lan Card 10/100 MB installed with driver on your Server PC
  2. Switch / Hub and Cable are connected with Server Lan Card & Clients Lan Card
  3. Check RJ-45 Connector and CAT-5 Cable colour code & Connection are perfectly Ok
  4. Insert Bootable OS CD Windows Server 2000/2003 in the CD Drive of SERVER PC
  5. Power On your Server, OS CD will automatically start & copy file system on the hard disk
  6. See & follow the On Screen Instruction, note that Fat 16/32 File system will not support to......
  7. Active Directory so go for
  8. NTFS.
  9. To setup windows 2000/2003 now , Press Enter...............Enter=Continue
  10. End User Licence Agreement ........, F8=I agree ...............Press F8
  11. Hard Disk Partition & Formate local drive with NTFS for Server
  12. Please wait while setup copies files to the windows 2K/2K3 Installation Folders
  13. System will Reboot automatically, Windows 2K/2K3 Server Start ......Please wait
  14. Press Next--------------> Installing Devices ---------------------------> Press Next
  • Personalize your Software
  • Type your Name -------------------------:
  • Type your Name of Organization -----:
  • Press Next
  • Your Product Key
  • Type the CD Key No. for Win 2K as given below

  • OR
  • Type the CD Key No. for Win 2K3 as given below

  • Per Server Number of concurrent connection .. 5 ..... set it 32 ---> Press Next
  • Computer Name and Admunistrator Password
  • Computer name----------------------> Type Name as SERVER
  • Type an Administrator Password
  • Administrator Password-----------> Type password as admin
  • Confirmed Password---------------> Retype password as admin--> Press Next
  • Windows 2000/2003 Components-----> Select defaults----------> Press Next
  • Date and Time Setting -------------------> Set actual Date & Time
  • Select [GMT+05:30] Calcutta Chennai Mumbai New Delhi --------> Press Next
  • Installing Components ------------------> Status: Copying Files
  • Performing Final Tasks
  • --> 1. Installing Strat Menu Items
  • --> 2. Registers Components
  • --> 3. Saves Settings
  • --> 4. Removes any temporary files Used
  • Completing the Windows 2000/2003 Setup Wizard
  • Press Finish
  • End Of SERVER Installation
  • After Rebooting the system start again
  • Press Ctrl+Alt+Del
  • Type Password
  • First Check Local Area Connection ----------------> See on VDU Screen PC Desk Top
  • Place Mouse Pointer on My Network Places Click Right Mouse Button
  • Then Click on Properties and see if Local Area Connection Icon is Present then OK
  • Local Area Connection Icon is not Present means Lan Card Driver not installed
  • Again install Lan Card Driver
  • Again Check Local Area Connection
  • Active Directory Installation (Domain)

  • Start --------------> Configure Your Server
  • Go to Start ---> Settings ---> Control Panel ---> double click on Administrative Tools
  • Click on Configure Your Server --------- OR ----------
  • Go to Start ---> Programs ---> Administrative Tools ---> Configure Your Server
  • Click On Active Directory ---> Click On Strat -------------> See Installation Wizard
  • Welcome to the Active Directory Installation Wizard
  • See & follow the On Screen Instruction ---> Click on Next
  • Domain Controller Type
  • Domain Controllel for a new Domain <---------------------------Tik on it
  • Additional Domain Controller for an existing Domain
  • Click Next
  • Creat Tree Of child domain
  • Creat a new domain Tree <-------------------------------------------Tik on it
  • Creat a new child domain in an existing domain Tree
  • Click Next
  • Creat or Join Forset
  • Creat a new forset of domain Tree <------------------------------Tik on it
  • Place this new domain tree in an existing Forset
  • Click Next
  • New Domain Name
  • Full DNS name for new domain
  • Type -----------> areptone.com
  • Click Next
  • NetBOIS Domain Name
  • Domain NetBOIS name ----------->Default -----> AREPTONE <----- Type
  • Click Next

  • Configure DNS
  • Yes, Install and configure DNS on this computer ( recommended ) <---Tik on it
  • No, I will install and configure DNS myself
  • Click Next
  • Permissions
  • Permissions compatible with pre-Windows 2000 Server <---Tik on it
  • Permissions compatible only with Windows 2000 Server
  • Click Next
  • Directory Services Restore Mode Administrator Password
  • Password ----------------------------->Type Password xxxxxxx
  • Confirm Password ----------------> Retype Password xxxxxxx
  • Click Next
  • Summary

  • Click On Restart Now
  • Rebooting System

  • Making USER'S Login & Password
  • Making Member Of Administrator,Users etc.
  • Writes & Permission for User Access
  • Software, Folder, File and Printer Sharing
  • Map Network Drive
  • Making User's Login & Password
  • Open Active Directory Click on
  • Start ---> Programs ---> Administrative Tools --->Active Directory Users and Computers
  • Click On Icon ---> Creat a new User in current Container
  • Type First Name, Last Name & User Logon Name
  • Click Next
  • Password ---------------------->Type a password for User
  • Confirm Password---------->Retype same Passsword for User
  • User must change passwordat next logon <---------Tick Matk on it
  • Click on Next
  • Click on Finish
  • You will see the New User in the USER OBJECT LIST
  • Making Member Of Administrator,Users etc.
  • Write Click on New User Then Click on Property
  • Click on Member Of then Click On ADD
  • Double Click on Administrators then
  • Double Click on Users
  • See both Administrators;Users are added in the Box list then Click OK
  • Click on Apply then Click Ok
  • Now Logon new User from any other Client PC
